Why Electrify?

Climate Change is impacting all of us regardless of location, income, or lifestyle. Fossil fuels contribute to harmful greenhouse gases which have numerous acute and chronic negative health impacts. The 2021 greenhouse gas (GHG) analysis conducted by the Los Altos Hills Environmental Impact Committee (EIC) determined that the Town was lagging behind many of it’s Bay Area peers when it came to moving away from fossil fuels and decarbonizing its energy sources. The Town has goals to be completely off of residential fossil fuel by 2045. This will create a healthy town through fewer harmful chemicals circulating in the immediate environment as well as doing our share in the Bay Area to mitigate Climate Change.

The Town is leading the charge on decarbonization and there are a number of options for residents to follow suit. Switching from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy is not only healthier for you and your family, it is also more efficient and cost effective in the long run. The higher up front for conversion and instillation costs is offset through significantly lower energy costs over the lifetime of the house.
